5th Brighton Guides belongs to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Our unit meets in Brighton - a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. We are part of Middle Brighton District, and South Metropolitan Region.

GIRLS:

Our unit is for girls aged 10-15 years. There are about 60 of us in our unit at the moment! Oh and Toby - the dog!

Meetings:

5th Brighton Guides meets once a week in the evening. Sometimes we have activities on weekends, and of course we have our infamous camps!
We meet at a Church Hall in Brighton. The Hall is huge, which is just as well as so are we! Here you can see us in Horseshoe Formation which is how we start most meetings.

Uniform:

Most of the time we wear camp uniform - jeans, polo shirt and our unit scarf - its comfortable and practical. For formal ceremonies we wear navy shorts instead and our sashes as you can see above.

Other Guide Units in Middle Brighton District:

Middle Brighton is a big district - apart from us there is a "Gumnut" unit (Guides 6-8yrs), 2 "Brownie" units (Guides 7-10yrs),  and a "Ranger Guide" unit (Guides 15-18yrs). We all meet at the same hall (different nights, though!).
