Secret Life Of Us BP

The BP (Baden-Powell or Be Prepared) Award is the highest award in our Guiding age

group. Girls work for several years to complete the syllabus, which consists of

challenges in six areas:

Promise&Law, World Guiding, Outdoors, Service, Guiding Traditions, and Patrol System.

These challenges require the girls to develop leadership, teamwork and practical

skills, as well as many hours of time and effort.

BP guides represent what guiding is all about.

In recognition of this achievement we usually have a ceremony with a theme that is

typical of each girl. Here are some photos of BP events and our recent BP Guides.

Celebrations of BPs are always

a big event in the unit.

After a horse-drawn cart ride,

we picnicked in the Botanic

gardens.

Here our drama-loving BP guide was presented with her award during a performance of A Midsummer night's dream in the Gardens...Puck produced the badge from...you don't want to know where ;)

BP Guides are the only girls allowed to wear the Millennium cloak - a cloak with a patch for every girl who has joined our unit since the new millennium began.

For this BP celebration we took the PLs to the shops for makeovers at Myer, followed by supper at the Sofitel!! Try the Icecream Symphony - it is to die for...

Its lovely to welcome the BP Guides former Gumnut and Brownie Leaders along to the BP Ceremony. Here is the formal presentation for three of our girls who achieved their BP. Their special event was to meet the cast of "The Secret Life of Us"!
